It's a Wonderful Life has become a holiday staple for many families. So what better way to kick off the season than to see this classic fave in a whole new way -- live on stage! This show-within-a-show takes place on December 24, 1946 in Studio A at WBFR Radio, where a cast of six actors is preparing to present It's a Wonderful Life live to the listening audience. With the help of a sound-effects artist, the ensemble reenacts the beloved story of George Bailey, a young man who's given up on his dreams and stands on a bridge, ready to end it all. Just then, an angel arrives to show Bailey how the lives of those he loves would be affected if he were not around. The story's message is profound and remains relevant for today's audiences. See it at Oil Lamp Theater in Glenview, and stay for cookies and hot chocolate after each show!

Hamlet, coming home from school for her father's funeral, gets visited by (ironically enough) her dead dad. As Hamlet finds out that her uncle, who has just married her mom and become the worst step-dad ever, was the one who killed her father, she begins a wild chain of events to discover just how guilty her uncle/step-father is and get her vengeance on him. This holiday season, watch the Hamlet family household as they deal with a loony princess, harsh break-ups, terrible Christmas shows and murder. Lots and lots of murder. Enjoy this take on Hamlet at Chicago's Public House Theatre.

All the snow has melted and those silly reindeer can't take off and fly, because the grass tickles their hooves. Santa must send Jack the Bird and LeeLee the Christmas tree off on an adventure to find Holli and bring her back before Christmas Eve. Will they reach Holli in time? Will Christmas be saved????

A ballet in two acts, The Nutcracker opens in Chicago on Christmas Eve, 1892, mere months before the opening of the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893, also known as the World's Fair, a marvel unlike anything the city has ever seen. Marie and her younger brother Franz arrive at home, where their immigrant mother-a sculptress of modest means-designs the seminal masterpiece that will preside over the Fair. A festive Christmas potluck ensues, only to be interrupted by the mysterious Great Impresario, creator of the World's Fair. He entertains with enchanting visions of the what's to come, distributing gifts in the process, which includes a mercurial nutcracker for Marie. That evening, Marie awakens to an epic battle between toy soldiers and rats led by The Rat King and the now life-size Nutcracker. Unexpectedly, Marie saves the day, as The Great Impresario and the Nutcracker, now transformed into a Prince, set sail on a magical journey into the night.

Adapted directly from the novel by Rachel Martindale, this version is a time traveling experience including the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of a Victorian Christmas. Come and enjoy the decorations, the Victorian Carols, spiced cider and cookies before the show (all included with the admission ticket). Then join Scrooge as he is led by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future in a journey to examine his life and learn that it's never too late to change. Presented in Dickens own rich language by three actors portraying all of the characters with the help of a few simple costume changes -- and some special effects -- this show is 80 minutes without intermission.

As they perform their signature hits such as 'Rhythm In Me,' 'The Calling,' and 'I Believe,' the Boyz question their loyalty to each other and ask whether or not faith is really holding them together. They finally deliver a message of unity, that 'there is no star as bright as its constellation, no harmony in a single voice.'

This play tells the tale of the year between the two fateful strokes, and the epic journey Gawain goes on to fulfill his mission.
