The Explorers Club Apr 27 - May 27, 2018
Citadel Theatre Company The Explorers Club

Armed only with a spoon, an intrepid female explorer ventures into the jungle and returns with Luigi, a suitably exotic-looking member of the lost tribe she's just discovered. Yet the esteemed -- and all male -- members of London's exclusive Explorers Club still refuse to allow her entry. Granted, it's 1879 and well before women's lib, but this particular group of professors aren't exactly setting the world on fire -- one's searching for the East Pole and another believes the lost tribes of Israel actually ended up in Ireland. Tony nominee Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) wrote this crazy battle-of-the-sexes comedy, dubbed "wildly funny" by Variety, now coming to the Citadel Theatre in Lake Forest as part of their 15th-anniversary celebration.
