With a nice assortment of traditional Irish folk music to set the mood on a fairytale set, Gift Theatre presents a romantic drama that is a balanced look at the revengeful practices of the English government toward the Irish after their defeat in the 1653.

Mamet’s ode to the theatre is a nostalgic passing of the mantel. The Goodman Theatre has an excellent piece to anchor the Mamet Festival which runs for the next seven weeks. This two-hander backstage comic drama has a marvelous set that reverses the stage where we see the makeup table, the kitchen and the wings with the stage, curtain and the stage lights facing us giving us a glimpse into the actors real world.
