"...A few of the scenes are inventive, as when a scout leader's scary campfire stories turn out to be about his bitter divorce, his euthanized dog, and getting a prostate exam. But the targets are mostly obvious—erratic scout leaders, manic knot-tying, wholesome-looking scouts with aberrant fetishes, homoeroticism lurking beneath official homophobia—and the attenuated story offers few specific insights into Boy Scout culture."
