Talley's Folly

Talley's Folly

Oak Park Festival Theatre
157 Forest Avenue Oak Park

Aptly set in lovely outdoor Austin Gardens, the action takes place on a summer day in 1944. An ornate, deserted Victorian boathouse on the Talley place in Lebanon, Missouri, is the backdrop for the courtship of the young Sally Talley and her Jewish suitor, Matt Friedman. The play won both the 1980 Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award as Best Play of the Season.
