Little Shop of Horrors

Little Shop of Horrors

The Den Theatre
1329-1333 N. Milwaukee Chicago

Watch one little shrub cause chaos when Awkward Pause Theatre presents the campy rock musical Little Shop of Horrors. A musical spoof of 1950s B movies, Little Shop follows a meek skid row floral assistant who becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Created by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast), Little Shop of Horrors was based on a low-budget 1960 black comedy film directed by Roger Corman. Little Shop's music -- performed in the style of early 1960s rock, doo-wop and Motown -- includes beloved tunes like "Suddenly, Seymour," "Skid Row (Downtown)" and "Somewhere That's Green."
