Petite Opera Productions seeks northwest suburban area children, ages 8-14, to play the starving Gingerbread children's chorus in its November (5-7, 12-14, 19-20), 2010 production of Hansel and Gretel in Park Ridge. The chorus is split into two soprano lines, and sings in harmony. Both boys and girls should have good soprano voices, be able to sustain their vocal part against a harmony line, be able to learn music quickly, and be 5’5” tall or under at the time of the production. Ability to read music is a plus.
Auditions will be held in Park Rige, by appointment only, on Saturday, August 21, 2010 between 9AM and Noon.
For the audition, each child should prepare the specific section of the Gingerbread chorus selection provided on the company website. Click on the AUDITIONS link at the top of the page to download the PDF print music file and MP3 recordings for the high voice and low voice part.
