Interrobang Theatre Project is accepting submissions for Falling by Deanna Jent, directed by Co-artistic director James Yost.

Character Breakdown:
JOSH: 18 years old. With severe Autism. He is large and strong. Most of the time he is happy and does what he refers to as his "happy dance"- big movements of his shoulders, back and forth, accompanied by guttural sounds and smiles and head tilts. He is fascinated by visual stimuli and scared by loud and unexpected noises. He has limited verbal/communication skills. *The actor should have a reasonable understanding of autism and how this may manifest physically and verbally.

TAMI: Josh's mother, in her 40's. She and her husband have been trained in behavioral intervention and teaching skills, which is evidenced in their interactions with Josh. She is strong and patient and resilient. She deals with the stresses of her situation with alcohol and fantasy.

BILL: Josh's father, in his 40s. Tries to relieve stress by making jokes- would like to relieve stress by having sec. Neither are working too well for him right now.
 
LISA: Josh's younger teen sister. Wants to be a typical girl in a typical home. Isn't and is frustrated by that.

GRAMMIE SUE: Bill's mother. She brings with her the hope that her sincere Christian faith can intervene to help everyone in her son's family. She is genuinely concerned and confused, but she is not a scold. She is in a "boot" because she broke two of her toes a few days prior to this visit.

Auditions will be held at Swedish American Museum 3rd floor library: 5211 N. Clark St.
