Chicago Musical Theatre Festival
Planted

Pay: Stipend

Description:

Seeking actors for Planted, a song cycle that will be performed as part of the Chicago Musical Theater Festival in August 2016 at the Biograph.

In the tradition of classic hetero-centric works such as Closer Than Ever and Songs for a New World, Planted is a contemporary song-cycle exploring relationships of modern-day queer men. Five men navigate through the minefields of dating, marriage, separation and independence. Through a multitude of characters and songs, audiences will be introduced to stories both heart-breaking and hilarious during this one-act musical collage.

Seeking five actors that are excellent pop/musical theater singers. Especially interested in seeing actors of color, actors with disabilities, and queer actors from across the gender spectrum (trans*, genderqueer, gender fluid, etc) who identify as male or masculine. All ages and body types are encouraged.

There will be a small stipend.

Planted is a theatrical song cycle co-conceived by Christopher Pazdernik and Jeff Bouthiette, with music and lyrics by Jeff Bouthiette and additional lyrics by Rebekah Walendzak, directed by Christopher Pazdernik.
