Description:
Looking for male actors to portray the role of Peter. Late 20's to mid 30's, any race, at least 5'8". A romantic. An artist stifled by a corporate job. A man who is at the end of his rope with his too-ordinary life but, because of his circumstances, he feels unable to take action or even vocalize what he is experiencing. Not a kid but not quite a man yet. A guy who tries to do "the right thing." This is a starring role with almost constant stage time; therefore the actor playing Peter must feel confident carrying a show, and be compelling in his melancholy, in his humor, and in his fury. The play deals largely with Peter's longing for the woman he loves, and so the actor playing him must be comfortable with onstage eroticism, and be capable of accessing a love that is palpable and overwhelming without being saccharine or overly sentimental.
