We are seeking actors who sing as well as dance for our musical auditions. NON-EQUITY actors interested in auditioning should see below for submission guidelines.

Material To Prepare:

Actors invited for a dramatic audition should prepare two contrasting monologues not exceeding three minutes in length total- one Shakespeare and one contemporary. Actors preparing a musical audition should have 32 bars of a song (bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided) and one two-minute monologue, either Shakespeare or contemporary. Shakespeare should be performed in standard American dialect.

Please choose one form of submission only-do not mail your headshot/resumes in addition to emailing. In the subject heading please specify if you are interested in a dramatic or musical audition or both when you submit.

We will begin setting up auditions in mid-January. Submission deadline is Monday January 9, 2010. No phone calls please. EQUITY auditions are being held on late January and mid February at the Actors Equity Offices. More details will be made available through the Chicago AEA Office on January 3.

All auditions are scheduled through the AEA office and not through Chicago Shakespeare Theater. We will not be seeing AEA actors on January 23 and 24.
