A Little Night Music Reviews
A Little Night Music
Chicago Tribune - Highly Recommended
"...This is not a feast of conceptual innovation, and the physical production is relatively simple, with occasional clunks. But the measure of a great “Little Night Music” is what it makes you feel in your gut. And time after time, this production delivers all the right sophisticated jokes and all the right thuds to the stomach."

"...With a script by Hugh Wheeler, the show fuses wistful romanticism, jaded irony, elegant sophistication, and bawdy humor. Light Opera Works' solid production--staged by Rudy Hogenmiller and featuring a full orchestra under Roger L. Bingaman's baton--does justice to Sondheim's literate rhymes and alternately frothy and achingly lyrical melodies."

"...Roger L. Bingaman has his 28 piece orchestra sounding heavenly. Light Opera Work’s swift, expertly sung production contains a sweet and romantic operetta that Sondheim would most strongly approve. Come see a beautiful flawless production of the artful musical–A Little Night Music. This is a wonderful date show. Hurry, there are only 3 performances remanding."

"...Their current production, A Little Night Music has music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Need I say more than his name to let you know that what you will hear is the work of a master of words and music? The book by Hugh Wheeler is suggested or based on a story by Ingmar Bergman, another genius, so this is one that you must find a way to see. I guess the biggest problem with Light Opera Works is that they are limited to a short run, thus by the time Chicagoland hears of the perfection in Evanston, it is gone."
