The Golden Girls - The Lost Episodes Reviews
Chicago Tribune- Somewhat Recommended
"...Cerda is riffing on the original show but also tweaking some of it faults (more on that in a moment), but the production seems to lack affection for its source material. Cerda and company rightly sharpen their knives for some of the sitcom's missteps when it comes to race or Sophia's overall nastiness. But satire needs focus and it needs logic, a good deal of which is missing here."

"...Which isn't to say this vulgar, trashy send-up of The Golden Girls isn't funny, at times outrageously so, especially given its bevy of delightful performances (Adrian Hadlock's unfiltered Sophia is particularly hilarious). But unlike Cerda's last show, Lady X: The Musical, the investigation of style provides diversion without much insight."

"...I know that David Cerda just won a special Jeff Award for the brilliance he has brought to the stage through his Hell In A Handbag Production company, and that some of his "drag" shows are amazingly delightful, but, his newest work, making its World Premiere at Mary's Attic, "The Golden Girls-The Lost Episodes" may just be stretching camp to the limits."

"...This hilarious, adult-rated comic creation will rank right up there with David Cerda's other divine creations. Never subtle, always way over-the-top, this parody is the perfect light-hearted summer entertainment. Not only are these lost episodes fast-paced, entertaining and filled with R-rated fun, but there's even a trivia contest with prizes for audiences to demonstrate their recollection of Golden Girl minutiae. So put on your kaftan, grab a slice of cheesecake and settle in for an evening of nostalgic fun."

"...After the audience participates in a "Thank You For Being A Friend" show theme sing-a-long, the nine-person ensemble fills in the rest on the small Mary's Attic stage-cum Miami lanai, teasing out complete storylines from relatives (memorably Rose's hyper "fiercely independent blind sister Lily") and issues briefly mentioned in real episodes."

"...Besides the hilarity on stage, you can expect a lively crowd experience as well. Prizes are given out for playing trivia, so bone up on your knowledge before attending. There were even audience members dressed as their favorite characters. This is a Golden Girls experience more than just seeing a parody of the show. If you have friends who love the show as much as you do, you absolutely do not want to miss this."
