Strangest Things! The Musical at The Greenhouse Theater Center

Strangest Things! The Musical

The Greenhouse Theater Center
2257 N Lincoln Avenue Chicago

In that magical year of 1983, when parents were nowhere to be found, hair was huge and frozen waffles had the power to change a bald girl's life, something ... strange happened in a sleepy town. Set to the fresh beats of your favorite me-decade hits, Strangest Things! might be familiar if you've seen the Netflix smash hit about a lost boy, his plucky friends and a troubled sheriff whose town is turned upside down. But in the hands of the folks who brought you Barney the Elf and Ladies Night of the Living Dead, this musical mystery is a little twisted. Spell out "L-E-T-S G-O" on your Christmas lights and head to Greenhouse Theater Center for a hilarious take on TV's hottest hit.

Chicago Reader - Highly Recommended

"...The full original cast of Random Acts' Netflix series parody, directed by Tommy Rivera-Vega, returns for this extension, which combines sketch-style comedy and Stranger Things-themed versions of 80s karaoke standards. Squeezing in eight episodes' worth of mythology gunks up some of the comedic rhythm, and some of the political jokes probably would have landed better back in October, but as a late-night romp this hits a lot of satisfying, low-budget musical comedy notes."

"...While extensive knowledge of the show isn't necessary, it does help to know it's basic premise. If you have a general sense of what everyone loves about the original show, you’ll most likely enjoy STRANGEST THINGS! THE MUSICAL. Plus, their soundtrack is pretty killer!"
