Song About Himself Reviews
Chicago Tribune- Recommended
"...There are deep quirks in the play's structure. Lots of wordplay. All of the speechlike things we do that aren't really speech at all - coughing, mumbling, trailing off - are part of the script and are meant to be said aloud. They amount to spoken stage directions, which is wonderfully, exceedingly weird and takes a little getting used to."

"...Maher hasn't found an adequate ending yet; his current Twilight Zone-esque twist leads down a conceptual cul-de-sac. But of his many artful, resonant plays, this one has the potential to eclipse them all."
