The Cousin from Nowhere
1543 W. Division Chicago
This screwball comedy, composed by Eduard Künneke, was an overnight sensation in 1921 Berlin and quickly became the crown jewel of the Berlin operetta genre. Infused with waltzes, Boston foxtrots and even a tango, along with elements of Rossini and even Mahler, The Cousin from Nowhere remains popular to this day in German-speaking countries. We are thrilled to be giving the Chicago premiere of this unjustly neglected show.
