The Chicago Commercial Collective is proud to announce that TO MASTER THE ART has recouped its full production capitalization in just 5 weeks. Commissioned by TimeLine Theatre in 2008, the play, about the adventure and romance of Julia and Paul Child's journey of discovery to Paris during the 1950s, has had a successful run at the Broadway In Chicago's Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E Chestnut) and will continue through October 20.

"We are so proud of this production of To Master The Art. It is the hard work of over 100 artists, technicians and managers, all from Chicago, that ensured the success of this wonderful production. We believe To Master The Art has a bright future and we look forward to producing other fantastic plays and musicals from the Chicago Theatre community," says Chicago Commercial Collective producer Brian Loevner.

The initial idea of TO MASTER THE ART was hatched by TimeLine Company members during an artistic retreat in the summer of 2006. An official commission in 2008 with William Brown and Doug Frew culminated in a developmental workshop and in the play's world premiere in 2010. The development of TO MASTER THE ART has been partially supported by The Dramatists Guild Fund.
