The Lion King Breaks Record for Highest-Grossing Week in Chicago

Broadway In Chicago announced for the second consecutive week, Disney's THE LION KING broke a Chicago box office record, this time for the highest-grossing nine-performance-week in Chicago theatrical history.  With a gross of $2,356,724.00 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre for the week ending January 3, 2016, THE LION KING breaks the previous record set by Disney's NEWSIES last year when that tour grossed $2,012,723 at the Oriental Theatre for nine performances for the week ending January 4, 2015.  THE LION KING continues performances in Chicago through Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W Randolph). 

The North American touring productions of THE LION KING have been seen by more than 17 million theatergoers and grossed over $1.2 billion to date.  Having already played more than 70 cities across North America, THE LION KING now proudly makes its Chicago return at the Cadillac Palace Theatre.
