Dee Roscioli

Chicago’s record-breaking Wicked has announced that Dee Roscioli will assume the role of Elphaba full-time starting Tuesday, December 12.  Dee joined the Chicago company as the Standby for Elphaba last January, and has performed in the role many times over the course of this past year.

As previously announced, original Broadway cast member, William Youmans, assumes the role of Doctor Dillamond for a special limited engagement from December 12 – January 14.   

Wicked veteran and original member of Broadway company, Derrick Williams, will return to Chicago to play the role of Fiyero starting January 19.  Derrick is currently playing Fiyero on Broadway and originated the role in the national tour.  Ensemble member, Brad Bass, will appear as Fiyero for a limited period through January 18.

The Chicago company stars Dee Roscioli as Elphaba and Erin Mackey as Glinda; Chicago’s own Rondi Reed as Madame Morrible, Gene Weygandt as The Wizard and Heidi Kettenring as Nessarose; & Adam Fleming as Boq and Carman Cusack as the Standby for Elphaba.

The complete cast includes:  Nicholas Belton, Justin Caster, Dioni Michelle Collins, Jason Davies, Delandis, Jennifer DiNoia, Jeremy Duvall, Peter C. Ermides, Steve James Ewing, Kristina Fernandez, Jacqui Graziano, Jill Hayman, Colleen Hieber, Jeremy Kocal, Kate Loprest, Vanessa McMahan, Mindy Reid, Don Richard, Alexander Selma, Ryan Weiss, Dan’yelle Williamson, Emily J. Williams, and Neka Zang.

The Chicago company of Wicked started performances on Friday, June 24, 2005 at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre, where it continues its phenomenal, record-breaking engagement on an open run basis.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman.  Directed by Joe Mantello, with musical staging by Wayne Cilento, Wicked is currently presented in Chicago, on Broadway at the Gershwin Theatre, on a national tour, and in London at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.

 Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz.  One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood.  The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular.  Wicked tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.

The Chicago company of Wicked is now playing in an open run at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre, 24 West Randolph Street.  The performance schedule is as follows: Tuesdays at 7:30 PM; Wednesdays at 2 & 7:30 PM; Thursdays at 7:30 PM; Fridays at 8 PM; Saturdays at 2 & 8 PM; and Sundays at 2 PM.
