Side Project Theatre

The Side Project will preview their 2006-2007 season this Saturday, July 22 at its annual SideFest Benefit.  In the spring of 2006, the side project opened the doors to a new, larger, more comfortable space at 1439 W. Jarvis, equipped with 43 padded chairs, three restrooms and a large lobby. Sean Graney's controversial dark comedy Porno was the inaugural performance.

This benefit will be a great chance not only to support the theatre but also to take a look at their new venue, hear some live music from an acoustic guitarist, be entertained by a live DJ, and of course enjoy food and drinks. There will also be a silent auction and prizes so what more can one ask for a night of entertainment.

But it's more than just a party, the theatre is also going to showcase what they do, with a 2006-2007 season preview (a 30-min compilation of scenes from their upcoming 6-show season) and a screening of 3 short films from ensemble members.

Details:
8:00 –9:00 pm - wine and cheese and acoustic music (Brooke Hardman)
9:00 -10:30 - the inventive sounds of DJ Hobbs (open bar, hors d'ouevres)
10:30 - first drawing for prizes
10:45 - season preview
11:30 - second round of prizes
12:00 - silent auction closes
12:00 - short films

The SideFest Benefit will take place at the new Side Project theatre at 1439 W. Jarvis. Tickets for the event are $35 in advance or $45 at the door. More info can be found at www.thesideproject.net or 773-973-2150.
