My Way... A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra Reviews
Chicago Tribune- Recommended
"...Sinatra interpreted by multiple voices has its ups and downs, but many of the arrangements (the work of several arrangers) are interesting and arresting, including a few upbeat, syncopated treatments of classic Sinatra ballads. And Boho cut me to the quick a couple of times. Keep an eye on her."

"...This is, of course, the 100th anniversary of that entertainer (born Dec. 12, 1915) who so memorably embraced the great American songbook, and left his indelible vocal imprint on many hundreds of its finest tunes. And while no one can match the unique timbre of Sinatra’s voice, or his subtly insinuating and seductive phrasing, or his tough guy-wrapped-in-a- melancholy spirit, it is enough to hear others sing the mostly familiar classics her favored — songs by everyone from Cole Porter and Irving Berlin, to Rodgers and Hart, Kander and Ebb, Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer, Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne (and the list goes on). In fact, Sinatra’s interpretations almost seem to be humming along, layered beneath those of this younger generation of performers."

"...Carl Herzog, the best singer in this Theo Ubique production, really knows how to belt 'em out, and though he's no dead ringer for Sinatra, he's got the moves down cold. Songbird Kyrie Anderson is a close second; when she and Herzog are together they sizzle. The real stars, though, are the three guys in the band: Kevin Brown, Jake Saleh, and musical director Jeremy Ramey on piano. This hot trio could carry the show if they had to."

"...My Way…A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra is a “must see” for Sinatra fans (like me); it is also a treasure for those who enjoy and cherish sophisticated lyrics delivered effectively my a terrific combo and four fine singers. It is also a fine way to expose youngsters to the rich talent of Frank Sinatra and his stable of song writers. Theo Ubique Cabaret’s intimate venue is a wonderful place to enjoy fabulous music. Director Fred Anzevino sure has revues that deliver! My Way…A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra my be his best revue to date – it sure is his most sophisticated. It is fine holiday entertainment."

"...TheoUbique Cabaret Theatre has chosen the ultimate in "cabaret" performers to highlight for their holiday production, one "Chairman of the Board- Frank Sinatra". This production was conceived by Todd Olson and David Grapes and features dozens of songs written by America's greatest writers for one of America's greatest crooners. Directed by Fred Anzevino, who understands the "cabaret" concept in theatrics better than most with some sharp choreography by Maggie Portman and with Jeremy Ramey at the keyboards (also the musical director) along with his drummer (Kevin Brown) and his bass (Jake Saleh), this is a solid evening of old favorites."

"...However the unquestionable star of this show is Frank Sinatra’s music. With uptempo, joyful tunes like “Chicago,” New York, New York,” “High Hopes” and “The Lady is a Tramp,” as well as gorgeous, often melancholy music such as “One For My Baby,” “Strangers in the Night,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” and “That Old Black Magic” this show is a tender trip down memory lane. Produced as professionally and well-sung as this, Fred Anzevino and Jeremy Ramey’s latest musical revue evokes enough smiles and fond memories to send audiences out onto Glenwood Avenue and back to their homes, filled with fond remembrances and a renewed appreciation for the taste and talent of Ol’ Blue Eyes."

"...Sinatra was a bit of a risk-taker and a rule-breaker. He was one of the first artists to release a concept album. He earned the ire of many lyricists for freely reinterpreting and changing words. He co-opted the African-American vocal styling known as scat and brought it to the masses. The only criticism of this well-sung show with tight band arrangements is that it plays things a little too safe. Previous cabaret shows at Theo Ubique took more risks ("One" in a minor key during "A Marvin Hamlisch Songbook" immediately comes to mind)."

"...The performers (Kyrie Anderson, Caitlin Boho, Carl Herzog and Christopher Logan) make good use of the space in the No Exit Cafe, lightly pantomiming some of the lyrics, tap dancing or wading out into the audience to flirt with the crowd. Herzog pulls off a smooth and easy Sinatra. Boho's vocals are jazzy and unique though some of the lyrics get lost in her affectations. The band (Jeremy Ramey on piano, Kevin Brown on drums, and Jake Saleh on bass) nails each number while the vigorous ego of Sinatra shines through the performances. "My Way" is invigorating and will send you out into this new winter with a warmed heart."
