good friday Reviews
Windy City Times- Somewhat Recommended
"...Not only do these largely temporary factors make for acoustics forcing speeches that might have been written as internal monologues to be delivered simultaneously at full volume in cacophony exacerbated by the auditorium's aurally reflective surroundings and the shrillness of the speakers' voices, but the division of the physical space promotes obstructed sightlines and choreography offering the victims several easy-to-spot opportunities to disarm their assailants. Hey, why should that kind of teamwork be restricted—in fiction, anyway—to men?"
The Fourth Walsh- Highly Recommended
"...GOOD FRIDAY is not an easy show to experience. Oracle Theatre has filled their new lobby with warnings for the audience. The subject matter is violent, offensive and disconcerting. I highly recommend seeing GOOD FRIDAY if you are emotionally able to endure the aggressive ordeal."
NewCity Chicago- Highly Recommended
"...Bearing witness to this truly breathtaking play is like watching an exercise in polemics become conscious of and begin to question itself. "good friday" is fiercely intellectual yet that intelligence is rooted deep within the playwright's mastery of dramatic structure and her utter command of language. Colon's play is forceful but not insistent. You can leave at any time. You won't. But you do have options."
