The song “Wilson,” about a stoner who unexpectedly becomes accessory to an armed robbery, is both highly comedic and the only one which introduces any real tension. However, Gray’s placement of cast members as silent observers of each other’s tales maintains a reassuring sense of warmth and acceptance throughout the show."

"...Maybe I’m too much of a stickler for concrete storytelling to enjoy a piece like BoHo Theatre’s Fugitive Songs. I have nothing against the script or the idea of the musical itself. Fugitive Songs is a song cycle detailing key moments in the lives of people who are running away from something in their life. Well, moments that should have been key, at least. The aspect that this production lacked the most was a focus on these key moments, which in turn left the individual stories underwhelming, and left me as an audience member wondering why I should care."
