"...Happily, after years of timidity, Second City has slowly been rediscovering its mojo over the last year or so: this show goes after therapists, advisors and those who make a good living from the fears and political longings of the time. There's even a scene where the show's one white guy, Andy Bolduc, is pushed so far in a Maoist high-school inquest that the audience feels actual sympathy for him. He even makes it into Black heaven, where Julia Morales gently guards the gates."

"...It's clear at first sight that Second City is done with the spartan stages of old, bare but for a couple of bentwood chairs. Recent mainstage shows have been embellished with visually rich sets and video screens, and the new "Don't Quit Your Daydream" further ups the theatrical ante with shelves full of framed photos, sculptures and other knickknacks, handpicked by the cast and bathed in colored lights."

"...There are glancing references to Clarence Thomas and attacks on reproductive rights, but really, given how quickly the news is hitting and the timeline is exploding, going topical would be a fool’s errand. So director and choreographer Carisa Barreca lets the fools run the show, and it makes for a mostly blissful outing, with no real duds in the bunch and a few heartfelt surprises. (Stafford poignantly plays both a dying father and his son, who is hoping to get a few pearls of wisdom before Dad kicks off.)"

"...Other comedic skits are crony, touching, and some so ridiculous that you can't help but laugh. But you come there to do this, and The Second City has a plethora of comedic events that will remove the workday blues from your soul. So get ready to laugh your troubles away, and remember, don't quit daydreaming."

"...The Second City has been a part of Chicago's comedy scene for decades and just keeps finding new talent. Over the years we have witnessed great success stories as comedians graduate from this institution to television and movies with many of them becoming regulars on SNL ( Saturday Night Live), and the ensemble that I saw tonight as they unleashed their 111th Mainstage Revue, "Don't Quit Your Daydream" is destined to see their members grow and grow. Six amazingly talented comics who have put together two wonderful hours of great fun ( even if you are not drinking)."

"...Second City's Don't Quit Your Daydream is a dream you won't want to wake up from. I gotta say this show brought me to tears... of laughter. Once the lights dim, you are welcomed with a groovy dance opening and then dive into back-to-back comedy sketches. This show captures all those ridiculous thoughts one could have in a daydream and conveys them in a series of hilarious skits."

"...I wanted a laugh… and I did LOL hard and often!
The new MainStage Revue is crushing it! Nothing is held back as Andy Boldoc, Kiley Fitzgerald, Claire McFadden, Evan Mills, Julia Morales and Jordan Stafford find the humor in anything and everything. Vegans, menopause, prom goers, an invisible girlfriend named Flip-Flop, a waiter answering to Schwinn and an aging Barbie calling herself Barb (Fitzgerald is a hoot!). This versatile and hilarious ensemble wrote and perform an imaginative show. They’ve literally let their wildest dreams carry them and us away!"

"...Each member of the cast brings the what if to regular jobs and fantasy jobs that has the audience laughing at each turn. For those looking for a standard comedy revue with a comedic social commentary on today's job industry, this would be a good fit for you."

"...Take this with a grain of salt, because I don't see every show at The Second City, but the new mainstage revue, "Don't Quit Your Daydream," is one of the most consistently funny shows-maybe the funniest-I've ever seen on that stage."
