The Most Important Thing Summary:
Max's marriage proposal ideas are criticized by the overly "helpful" jewelry store saleswomen, causing him to abruptly make a change of plans that jeopardize his relationship with Emily.

This short will film for four days over the week of July 16 to July 23. In addition to being a stand-alone short film, the project will also serve as a proof of concept for a feature film.

CASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:

MAX: male, mid 20s-early 30s, any ethnicity, Emily's boyfriend, determined, but awkward in a loveable way, 4 shooting days

EMILY: female, mid-to-late 20s-early 30s, any ethnicity, Max's girlfriend, smart and down-to-earth, but able to play fairytale ridiculously romantic in fantasy sequences, 3-4 shooting days

LINDSEY: female, early 20s, any ethnicity, jewelry store employee, bubbly, but opinionated, 1-2 shooting days

RACHEL: female, 30s to 40s, any ethnicity, jewelry store manager, all business, but with a smile, 1-2 shooting days

SHERI: female, late 40s to early 60s, any ethnicity, jewelry store employee, fidgety and fussy, 1-2 shooting days

WAITER: male, late 30s to 50s, any ethnicity, nonspeaking, clean-cut, 1 shooting day

VIOLIN PLAYER: male or female, 20s to 60s, any ethnicity nonspeaking, must be able to play violin proficiently and provide own violin, 1 shooting day

EMT: male or female, 30s to 40s, any ethnicity, nonspeaking, 1 shooting day

UPSCALE RESTAURANT PATRONS: males and females, all ages, all ethnicities, nonspeaking well-groomed, 1 shooting day

NEW YEARS EVE PARTY GOERS: males and females, 20s-30s, all ethnicities, nonspeaking, dressed to impress, 1 shooting day

We will use a SAG student deferred payment contract if union actors are cast.

*Working on a SAG student film will not count against days in order to join the guild.

All those who are auditioning must schedule a time in advance. Please e-mail themostimportantthingmovie@gmail.com with your available date and time frame and you will be assigned a 15 minute time slot and sent sides. Preference will be given to those that can attend the June 26 audition, as July 3 will primarily be used for callbacks. Video auditions will be given equal consideration. Please include your headshot, resume, and reel (if you have one) in your e-mail. Those wishing to only be considered for nonspeaking roles, do not need to attend auditions. Just send a photograph of yourself and your availability for shooting July 16 to 23.
