General Auditions for Collaboraction's Second Annual PEACEBOOK FESTIVAL will be held on Saturday and Sunday June 3rd and 4th. Peacebook is our city-wide arts and peace festival which showcases 21 world-premiere plays, devised theatre, dance, spoken word and more, of 7 minutes or less, about Peace in Chicago. Peacebook is part of Chicago Park District's Night's Out in the Parks. This is Collaboraction's 5th year touring peace related theatrical events in underserved neighborhoods. This year's festival will kick off with a performance in Goodman's Owen Theatre. We are seeking actors that want to help spread the Peace in the city and be part of the solution.
Seeking actors, dancers, poets, musicians, art makers and peacemakers of all types.
Auditions will be held at Collaboraction Theatre in Wicker Park, 1579 N. Milwaukee, Third Floor
Rehearsals: Time commitment varies depending on whether or not the piece is scripted, devised or dance. Scripted pieces should rehearse no more than 10 hours while dance or devised pieces may require more time. All pieces are approximately 7 minutes. There will be a designer run, tech and dress rehearsals in addition to rehearsals. Shows will only be called for their piece during tech.
Important Dates: All shows will perform at the Goodman's Owen Theatre on Saturday, August 26th After the Goodman performance each piece will perform at one of the following three parks on the given dates:
Hamilton Park: October 5th - 7th
Kelvyn Park: October 19th - 21st
La Follette Park: November 2nd - 4th
There will be an awards ceremony TBD date in November. You do not need to be available for all three weekends of the festival. Each play will perform at the Goodman and one of the park locations.
