Mercy Street Theatre Company announces auditions for Dusty Wilson's LUZ ESTRADA, directed by Artistic Director Julia Rohed. Seeking Latinx actors for all roles listed (excluding the role of Livvy van Arnsdalen).
Synopsis: After learning of her family's murder by the local cartel leader, Luz Estrada volunteers for her town's long-vacant position of sheriff. With her new authority, she begins a women's rebellion to push out the drug lord that has systematically destroyed her home.
NOTE: Actors must be comfortable with stage combat and violence. A fight choreographer will be present during rehearsals.

Luz Estrada- Early 20s, a law student and soon-to-be newest sheriff of San Jeronimo
Carlotta Valdez- 20s, Luz' best friend, works as a bank teller, and is six months pregnant
Carlos "El Cucui" de Aguierre - Early 20s, controls San Jeronimo for the regional cartel
Cordelia "La Princesa" Gama- Late teens, girlfriend of El Cucui
Mireya Santillan- 40s-50s, a resident of San Jeronimo that few seem to notice
Javier Valdez- 20s, Carlotta's husband and deputy sheriff of San Jeronimo
Vidal Reyes- 40s-50s, owner of the town's bank, connected with the cartel
Livvy van Arnsdalen- 17, La Princesa's "daughter," Dutch, has Stockholm Syndrome and the mentality of a twelve year old
El Oso- 20s, cartel hitman
Santos- Late teens, cartel member
Rehearsal will begin on May 22nd, 2017 (Evenings - Monday-Thursday and Sunday afternoons)
Load In: Monday June 19th
Tech: Tuesday June 20th - Thursday June 22nd
Dress: Saturday June 24th
Previews: Sunday June 25th - Monday June 26th (with small rehearsal before each performance)
Opening: Tuesday June 27th
Regular Run: Thursday-Sunday until Sunday July 16th
Closing: July 16th
All performances will take place at The Frontier- 1106 W. Thorndale Ave. in Edgewater
