SHOW DESCRIPTION:
The restless American consciousness, neon and glowing, pulsating through cable boxes across the country- began its deep fragmentation in 1969 when the proto internet went live for the first time in a dingy California research lab. Told through the lens of an episodic song cycle and set on the verge of the internet age, The End of TV weaves together the story of a QVC host (Anne), the creator of a cult meditation movement, The Jolly Green Giant's Valley, Ronald Reagan's 'The Bear', and the Myth of the American dream into a sui genre meditation on the interiority of our screens and the interiority of ourselves.

Told through an original score, live feed cameras, overhead projector shadow puppetry, and tableau, the piece takes as both its subject and it's metaphorical space the very first pervasive screen to dot the American landscape. The place where a troubled country first gazed through analog fuzz and into itself, or what it desperately wanted itself to be.
