A studious and bright young woman with a strong internal life. She attends Ohio State in 1949 and is deeply affected by a dark series of events.

Iris Ann - Female, African-American, early 20s
Suzanne's fellow student and best friend at Ohio State. She has an outwardly more difficult time than Suzanne navigating the strange dynamic at the university.

David Alexander - Male, African-American, mid to late 20s
Suzanne's future husband, whom she meets during a dark and tumultuous period in her life. He is a kind and reassuring support for Suzanne.

About the play:

Ohio State Murders is the story of Suzanne Alexander, an author, who has been invited back to her alma mater to give a lecture. Through the lecture she revisits her time at Ohio State and unravels the events surrounding an infanticide that took place there in the early 1950s.

About the playwright:

Adrienne Kennedy's pioneering work has been seen in the American theatre since the early 1960's. Her plays embrace a lyrical and poetic style that defies traditional story telling methods. Writing for The New York Times, Charles Isherwood described her as "one of the finest living American playwrights, and perhaps the most underappreciated."
