Description:

Transit of Venus by Maureen Hunter is about a family in turmoil. Le Gentil puts off marrying the young and wilful Celeste and leaves behind his mother and her companion as he travels around the world in his attempts to plot the course of Venus across the sky, only to be undone at every turn by weather, war, and misfortune Spanning eleven years in the lives of its characters, Hunter's play explores the differing opinions of love and life while dealing issues of faith, solitude, and the human spirit in its characters.

Type/Restrictions: She is strong, opinionated, and a commanding force in the lives of Margot, Celeste, and Le Gentil. She has faith in her son but never lets her opinion about his choices go unvoiced. All Ethnic Backgrounds

Auditions will be held at St. Bonaventure Oratory 1625 W Diversey Parkway, Enter at rear of church parking lot, up the flight of stairs

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals will be conducted January 8-February 16

Performances: February 17-March 12 Fridays 8 p.m., Saturdays 8 p.m., Sundays 2 p.m.
