Halo ONE productions is holding auditions for Wormwood the Play

Synopsis
Overtly Expressionistic in style, this dark comedy two act shadows Liam, a young man plucked from obscurity and thrust into the motion picture industry of Wormwood, and the trials and tribulations therein.

Character Breakdowns

LIAM: Any ethnicity - M - 20s. Naive and sweet natured, works in the city laundry with his family.

PAGE: (Will double as Ms. Sara and The Publicist) Any ethnicity - F - 20s - 30s. Cold and insecure, Liam's sister and city laundry co-worker.

STEVENS: Any ethnicity - M/F - 40s - 60s. Manipulative and cagey, a Producer for the motion picture company.

PAPA DECKLAN: Any ethnicity - M - 40s - 60s. Trusting and kind, the owner of the city laundry, and father of Liam and Page.

CARTWRIGHT: Any ethnicity - M/F - 30s - 50s. Egotistical and shameless, the top Director for the motion picture company.

MS. SARA: Any ethnicity - F - 20s - 30s. Insipid and sexy, an actress for the motion picture company.

THE PUBLICIST: Any ethnicity - F - 20s - 30s. Untrustworthy and aloof, a reputation maker for the motion picture company.

** The Roles of Garret, Jimmy the Photographer, and Keats have been cast**

Auditions will be held at Infinity Arts Academy 3633 N. California Ave. Chicago, IL. 60618 (located on the DePaul prep campus, 3rdfloor, adjacent to parking lot - free parking) near California and Waveland Ave.

Time Commitment:

Read thru is Saturday August 13 time TBA
Rehearsals Begin Tuesday September 13 (20 rehearsals total)

Rehearsals will be held at Infinity Arts Academy 3633 N. California Ave. Chicago, IL. 60618 (free parking)
Rehearsals will be Tuesdays - Wednesdays from 7pm - 9pm - Saturdays from 5pm-8pm

Opening Night October 28 - Closing November 6th

Performances will be held at The Art Center Highland Park, 1957 Sheridan Road, Highland Park, IL. 60035 (3min walk from Metra UPNL Highland Park station)

This is a limited engagement production with (6 performances), and the possibility of extending to another space in the city during the winter season - decided by the cast.
Performances October 28, 29, 30 and November 4, 5, 6 on Friday-Saturday at 7pm and Sundays at 5pm
Possible 1 preview performance on Thursday October 27th 7pm - decided by the cast.

1 energetic monologue 1 min in length, and a cold reading from the script. Please bring a current headshot and resume.
