Description:

Audition Notice for New American Folk Theatre's Mill House: My Life is a Country Song for Underscore's Chicago Musical Theatre Festival.

The New American Folk Theatre is seeking Actor/Musician/Singers for a new musical being premiered at the Underscore Musical Theatre Festival in August. Mill House: My Life Is a Country Song is a two-act musical tale of two stories that happen in one house, twenty years apart. For this festival, we will be doing the second story/act only. The score includes elements of 70's country, southern gospel and folk. The play is an Ensemble piece that takes place with a "Band" onstage, occasionally stepping out to portray the various characters.

We are looking for skilled Performer/Musicians to create the Ensemble and who are proficient/comfortable working with only chord charts & lead sheets. We are specifically looking for performers that play the following: Guitar, keys, bass, percussion, strings (ex: fiddle, banjo, mandolin, autoharp, etc... - no ukuleles) and other organic acoustic sounds.
