Big Noise Theatre Company, a division of Winnetka Theatre, announces auditions for Seussical, the Musical Sunday, June 12 between 1-4pm and Monday, June 13 between 6pm and 9pm. Callbacks, if needed, are Thursday, June 16, 2016. Children are encouraged to set appointments between 1-2pm on Sunday, June 12. Auditions are at Winnetka Community House, 680 Lincoln Ave, Winnetka, IL.

Whether young or young-at-heart, audiences love this warm and wild adaption of Dr. Seuss's most beloved characters and stories. Hosted by the irreverent Cat in the Hat, follow Horton, the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, the Grinch who Stole Christmas and many more favorites as they trek through the Jungle of Nool and on the Planet of Who.

Director Kevin Wiczer, Choreographer Annie Snow, and Music Director Jeff Poindexter seek the following:

THE CAT IN THE HAT (male or female, 20s-40s) Playfully provokes change in the lives of those around him. Mischievous, but benevolent and the comedic narrator of the show.

HORTON, THE ELEPHANT (male, 20s-40s) The heart and soul of Seussical, Horton protects the defenseless charges in his care. A slow-moving, gentle giant.

JOJO (male, age 8-12) A young boy thinker, he gets into trouble for dreaming. He and Horton bond over the fact that they are outcasts because of what they do.

GERTRUDE MC FUZZ (female, 20s-30s). The loyal bird-neighbor of Horton, she loves him but is a shy wallflower. She has major insecurities and doesn't quite fit in animals.

MAYZIE LA BIRD (female, 20s-30s) A vivacious, self-centered, selfish and vain bird. She could easily be a Las Vegas headliner.

THE SOUR KANGAROO (female, 20s-40s) The diva queen of the jungle. She has style and flair, but she is also hard-hearted and sour.

MR. MAYOR (male, 30s-50s) Desires to be a good leader and father, proud to be mayor, but disturbed by the troubling antics of his dreamer son, JoJo.

MRS. MAYOR (female, age 30s-40s) A good wife and mother, she is an exemplary, traditional, well-put-together woman.

GENERAL GENGHIS KHAN SCHMITZ (male, 30s-60s) The general of the Whos' military, Schmitz sees the world in simple contrasts.

BIRD GIRLS/ENSEMBLE (female, 18-30s) The three Bird Girls are a flamboyant girl group. Narrators when the Cat in the Hat is not around. Sensual, powerhouse movers.

WICKERSHAM BROTHERS/ENSEMBLE (male, 18-30s) Three mischievous monkeys who live to impress with their strength and prowess. The Sour Kangaroo's henchmen.

ENSEMBLE (male/female, all ages) Jungle creatures, Whos, Fishes, Hunters, Circus Performers, and other featured roles. Casting approximately 4 adults and 7 children age 10 and up.
