Synopsis: Beth, a dramaturg at a regional theatre company, spends her waking hours reading new scripts in the hopes of finding "the one" that will please her boss Pam. And indeed, she has just discovered Tim, a young African American playwright, whose work is miles beyond anything else she has read so far. Unfortunately, Beth can't get Tim's play produced because the theater's "black slot" has already been taken by legendary playwright August Wilson. Before they know it, Tim and Beth have hatched a plan to show up the racism and hypocrisy of the American theater, but things quickly get out of hand in this satire filled with talking scripts and theatrical forgery.

CASTING FOR: Beth - female/caucasian, mid-20s/early 30s. Second year at the theater company. Went to Yale School of Drama. Eager and passionate about theater, but a little burned out.

Tim - male/African-American, mid-late 20s/early 30s. Hip, sexy, young playwright.

Clifford - male/African-American, 40s-50s+. Works for the August Wilson Estate.

We will also be casting 2 actors (1 caucasian female, 1 African-American male) to understudy and play unique ensemble roles. Puppeteering experience encouraged but not required for these roles. *The role of Pam has already been cast
