Auditions for GreenMan's 2016 murder mystery dinner theatre production, Gillian's Island: Dead Wreckoning by Carolyn Thomas-Davidoff, will be Sunday December 13 at 2 PM and Monday December 14 at 7 PM. Auditions will be held at First United Methodist Church at 232 S. York in Elmhurst. Thomas-Davidoff will be directing the production.

There are 22 roles available.

The famous castaways who embarked on a "three hour cruise," tempt fate again a number of years later, with disastrous results. Who knew that "lightning," (in the form of a terrible storm) would strike twice?? Some of the original group come with the Skipper to help a pair of archaeologists explore the caves for native artifacts, while others arrive at the island with Gillian, who is captain of a "Love Boat" style cruise ship...which gets shipwrecked as well.

Hilarity ensues when "pirates" from a movie set show up, bent on treasure hunting...and they are shipwrecked, too! What do the caves contain: only historical artifacts, or priceless treasure? Soon, the hunt is on, and the result will be a "dead wreckoning" for someone!

Cast of Characters

(The cast contains comparative gender and age equity. There are good parts for both men and women, and a wide range of ages.) If your hair color is not the same as the color needed by a particular character, you need to be willing to wear a wig. Some characters will sing, but not all, so a solo voice is not required.

Arthur: Male: age flexible, archeologist

Angela: Female, age flexible, hyper-dedicated archeologist

The Professor. Male: He is knowledgeable and intelligent.

Mr. Howell: Male: older, rich and married to "Lovey."

Lovey Howell: Female: Blonde, flexible age, married to Mr. Howell

Maryann: Female: sweet, flexible age, from the TV show, dark haired.

Ginger: F. Movie Star, flexible age, from the show. Red haired, singing helpful.

Gillian: Female Captain, flexible age, related to Gilligan

Purser: Male or Female, on the Cupid's Bow, Gillian's ship. Detail oriented.

Alonzo: Male, due to a head injury, he thinks he really is "King of the Pirates."

Fonzo: Male, flexible age, pirate from the set of a movie. (Knows he's not a real pirate.) Very superstitious.

Gonzo: Male, flexible age, pirate from the set of a movie. (Knows he's not a real pirate.)

Gilbert: Male, flexible age, pirate from the set of a movie. (Knows he's not a real pirate.) Related to Gilligan and Gillian. Agressively nasty. (Dies in in Act I, but comes back as Gherbert (the "G" is silent) and is related to Gilligan and Gillian, also.

Herman: Male: Older, has lived a long time on the island.

Chef: Male, French, flexible. age. Passionate re cooking. Maryann's love interest.

Christine: Female, ingenue, style, age flexible. Sweet, vulnerable. Needs to sing.

Felicity: Female, age flexible; old enough to be believable as Christine's mother, but young enough to be believable as still working on her own movie career. Singing would be helpful.

George: Male, Gilligan's son. Should look quite young, dark hair preferred.

Gemma: Female, young granddaughter of the Howells. George's lab partner.
