Description:

The Waltzing Mechanics are seeking versatile, creative actors of all types for EL Stories: Heroes, directed by Sara Sawicki. Actors from diverse ethnic backgrounds are especially encouraged to submit. EL Stories, Chicago's hit late-night documentary theatre project, uses real-life transit tales to explore our diverse experiences as we move through this dynamic city.

All auditions will take place at the Greenhouse Theater Center. General auditions are Monday, July 6th from 6:00pm-10:00pm and callbacks are Saturday, July 11th from 1:00pm-5:00pm. A small stipend is offered.

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals will begin Monday, July 25th. Most rehearsals will be held on weekday evenings with some Sunday afternoons in the Edgewater neighborhood. Performances are every Saturday at 11:00pm, from September 5th - November 21st at the Greenhouse Theater Center.

Material To Prepare:

If called, prepare one 90 second contemporary monologue (please no heavy, dramatic pieces; think more serio-comic, easy in tone) and bring one hard copy of your H/R to the audition.
