Description:

Chicago Folks Operetta announces auditions for its tenth anniversary season. Seeking all voice types for Madame Pompadour by Leo Fall, Girl in the Train by Leo Fall and Arizona Lady by Emmerich Kalman. Madame Pompadour will be directed by Amy Hutchison, conducted by Anthony Barrese and be performed at the Vittum Theater in Chicago; Girl in the Train will be directed by Elizabeth Margolius, conducted by Anthony Barrese and be performed at Madison Street Theater in Oak Park. Arizona Lady will be directed by Elizabeth Margolius and will be a semi-staged live concert recording for the Naxos international recording label in May at Thalia Hall. All rehearsals will be in Oak Park.

Time Commitment:

Madame Pompadour will begin rehearsing in June and run July 17-Aug 2.
Girl in the Train will begin rehearsals in late July and run Sep 4-13.
Arizona Lady will rehearse for 2 weeks and perform 2 concerts in May.

Material To Prepare:

Bring two contrasting 32 bar selections from opera, operetta or musical theater (no pop) and a one-minute comic monologue. (Not from An Ideal Husband) An accompanist will be provided.
