PM&L Theatre will be holding auditions for the musical, Meet Me in St. Louis, on Monday, December 15th, and Tuesday, December 16th at 7:00 pm. Auditions will be held at the theatre located at 877 N. Main Street in Antioch, IL.
Most musicals start on the stage and make their way to Hollywood. Meet Me in St. Louis turned that on its ear when it first opened on Broadway 45 years after the 1944 film hit the silver screen with its story of the life of a happy family anticipating the wonders of the 1904 World's Fair.
Mark Badtke, the director, will be casting for the following roles:
The Smith family:
Mother (40-50 years old)
Father (40-50 years old)
Lon (19-year-old boy)
Rose (18-year-old girl)
Esther (17-year-old girl)
Agnes (12-year-old girl)
Tootie (6-9 years old, girl)
Grandfather
Housekeeper
John Truitt, a boy next door
Warren Sheffield, Rose's suitor
A chorus of 6 couples
Performance dates for Meet Me in St. Louis will be Fridays and Saturdays, February 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st at 8:00 pm and Sundays, February 8th, 15th, and 22nd at 2:30 pm.
Each auditioner should prepare a song and will be reading from the script. Please arrive by 7 pm and plan to stay until each night's auditions conclude.
