Big Noise Theatre Company, a division of Winnetka Theatre, announces auditions for Enchanted April Monday, October 27 and Tuesday October 28 between 7pm and 9pm. Callbacks, if needed, are Thursday, October 30, 2014. Auditions are at Winnetka Community House, 680 Lincoln Ave, Winnetka, IL.

Set in the 1920's, the play centers on four English women who rent a castle in Italy to try to come to grips with their lives and relationships. During their enchanted month, the ladies fall under the spell of their idyllic, sun-drenched surroundings, and rediscover laughter, learn new truths about themselves and find the romance.

Director Catherine Davis is seeking the following:

2 women--30s-early 40s (Rose, Charlotte)

Rose-Once warm but troubled by personal tragedies and her strained marriage, she has turned proper and prudish. A woman of faith, especially after the loss of her child.

Charlotte (Lotty)--Earnest, awkward, but daring and imaginative. Browbeaten by her very particular and rigid husband.

1 woman-mid 20s-early 30s (Lady Caroline) A glamorous flapper, she has grown weary of the social whirl. She harbours secret depths of sadness.

1 woman-60s (Mrs. Fisher) Imperious, bitingly sarcastic, and inflexible Victorian era dowager who still wears black 11 years after the death of her husband.

1 woman-40s-50s (Francesca) Vibrant and comic caretaker of the Italian villa. All lines in Italian.

2 men-35-45 (Mellersh, Frederick)

Mellersh-Lotty's uptight and controlling attorney husband.

Frederick-Charlotte's charming but philandering husband who writes books of questionable taste. He struggles with the slow disintegration of his marriage.

1 man-late 20s-30s (Thomas Briggs) Appealing owner of the castle who leads a bohemian life as a painter; smitten with Lady Caroline.
