Seeking 11 actors for a new exploration of MACBETH directed and adapted by Artistic Director, Lindsay Bartlette Allen, at our home space in Wicker Park.

We are particularly interested in actors who sing and/or play an instrument, have movement experience, and have training and/or experience with Shakespeare. We are extremely interested in ethnically diverse casting of all available roles. We are specifically seeking a male 40+ to play the title role, and an actor that can convincingly play a 15 year old boy to play Fleance/ MacDuff's son. Some roles may be cross-gender cast.

We ask that those auditioning prepare a 60 second or less monologue from Shakespeare's cannon. If you sing or play an instrument, please be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song acapella and/or play your instrument. You may be asked to read a side or improvise.

Auditions will be held at Transcendent on Sept 14th and 15th. Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, Sept 16th. The run consists of 9 performances ranging from Oct 24- Nov 9th (various Th-Sun shows). Callbacks will be in a group setting and include side reading as well as a movement portion.

We are looking for a stage manager as well. Those interested in this postion should email with a resume and the subject: "MACBETH- Stage Manager). This will be a lighter load for an SM and mainly consist of keeping track of lines and making show calls as well as running a few tech elements thoughout performances. The position is perfect for a student trying to build a resume.
