Description:

The Wilmette Center for the Arts announces auditions for the summer production of Annie Get Your Gun (1999 Revival,) directed by Ashton Byrum. The production is an outdoor production that will take place at the Wallace Bowl amphitheatre in Gillson Park, just off of Lake Michigan and accessible via the Linden stop on the Purple Line.

For the ensemble, we need strong singing actors who dance/move well. We also need four young men who dance very well and sing as a male quartet. Seeking two young teenage girls to play Jessie and Nellie Oakley, Annie Oakley's younger sisters. Must look 12 and 14 and be able to sing, act and move well. Any young male actors who want to audition for the role of Little Jake must be at least 8 years old at the time of the audition. For the roles of Buffalo Bill, Pawnee Bill, Chief Sitting Bull and Charlie Davenport, we are looking for Men who sing, ages 30s-50s.

Character breakdowns:
Annie Oakley: Fantastic singing actress with a strong belt and lovely head voice. Should dance/move well and be able to authentically play an unwashed backwoodsperson and sharpshooter who becomes the beautiful international star of Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. She's very likable and down-to earth, with a great sense of humor.

Frank Butler: Handsome leading man and sharpshooter in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. He has a great rivalry and romance with Annie Oakley. Seeking a charming, masculine actor with strong baritone voice who moves well and has great comic timing.

Dorothy Tate: Blowsy, slightly over-the-hill assistant to Frank Butler. Desperately wants to be more than that to him - and is always looking for a husband. Instantly jealous of Annie Oakley. Older sister to Minnie. Strong singer/dancer - a pretty character actress with excellent comic abilities.

Minnie Tate: Dorothy's pretty younger sister, wants to be treated as an adult. In love with Tommy Keeler - much to her sister's chagrin. Strong Singer/Dancer with bright soprano/belt - Adorable and spunky ingenue.

Tommy Keeler: Young handsome knife thrower in the Wild West Show - he is part Native American. Great sense of humor and strong singer/dancer (high baritone/tenor).
