Edge of the Wood Theatre, located in Chicago's Edgebrook neighborhood on the northwest side, announces auditions for the musical The Secret Garden on Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1. Auditions will be held in the theatre space at the Edgebrook Community Church, 6736 N Loleta Avenue, Chicago.
ROLES:
MARY LENNOX - age 10-12, mezzo, lead
MRS. MEDLOCK - age 35-50, no vocal solo, supporting role
DR. CRAVEN - age 35-50, baritone, supporting role
MARTHA - age 16-25, mezzo, supporting role
DICKON - age 14-20, tenor, supporting role
COLIN - age 10-12, boy soprano, supporting role
DREAMERS - ages 18-60, strong singers who serve as chorus, storytellers, and supporting characters
Please note: LILY, ARCHIBALD and BEN WEATHERSTAFF have been cast.
There will be 1-2 dialect rehearsals and costume fittings in December/January. Regular rehearsals will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons beginning mid-January 2013. The show runs March 8-16, 2013.
REQUIRED: 32 bars of a musical theatre song. Accompanist will be provided. Bring music in your key.
OPTIONAL: 1-minute monologue
OPTIONAL: 30-second piece showcasing Standard English (RP) or Yorkshire dialect
