Elgin Shakespeare Project in collaboration with Janus Theatre Company and Moonlight Theatre is seeking actors for this summer's Unrehearsed Shakespeare Festival featuring three plays across three days using original practices from Shakespeare's time. Presented at the historic Moonlight Theatre in downtown St. Charles. Produced by Sean Hargadon. No stipend.
WHEN: Saturday, April 20 at 1pm.
WHERE: Elgin Art Showcase, 164 Division Street, Elgin, IL, 60124 - 8th floor
WHAT: Open Call. No appointment is necessary. Actors will be seen in order of arrival.
Actors will learn original practices and the techniques used to present the plays unrehearsed. Workshops will be conducted in Elgin and St. Charles. They will begin in July. Performance dates: July 26, 27, 28, 2024: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Performances will take place at the Moonlight Theatre, 7 S Second Ave, downtown St. Charles.
Please prepare two contrasting monologues, at least one from Shakespeare. Headshot and resume are optional.
