YRT is seeking 6 non-union actors (two performers and 4 swings) for their upcoming performance of "Airport Time." This production is two acts of seven original scenes, performed in an immersive space. The scenes all revolve around traveling, from hotels to coffee shops and airports, with sprinklings of love, humor, and baggage (both physical and emotional). Improv experience is definitely a plus!
Audition date and time: Saturday, April 6th between 6:30 pm and 10:00 pm
Audition Location: Green Shirts Studio, Studio 303-B. 4001 N Ravenswood Avenue. Chicago, IL 60613
Characters:
Gracie: female-identifying, late 20s. Very positive and bubbly. Obsessed with airports. Will also act as the "host" throughout the show.
Ensemble 1: an actor to play three roles - a barista, an airport obsessed mother, and a traveler who might have more baggage than they expected.
4 Swings: covering a variety of roles, open gender.
Note on Swings: Each swing will get a guaranteed performance and a put in rehearsal beforehand.
Pay: $400 stipend for actors and swings.
Opening: Thursday, June 20
Closing: Sunday, July 14
Performances on: Thursdays (7:30pm), Fridays (7:30pm), Saturdays (2pm & 7:30pm), Sundays (2pm & 7:30pm)
Exception: No matinee performances on June 22 and June 23
Rehearsals: April 22nd - June 16th, Monday through Fridays 7 pm - 10 pm, Saturdays 5 - 7 pm. No actor will be called to rehearsals more than four times a week.
Tech Week: June 17th - 19th, 7 pm - 10 pm. All actors and swings must be available for all tech rehearsals.

For Gracie, you will get a side and will be asked to improvise a short scene in the audition room.
For Ensemble 1 and swings, you will receive sides for three characters. Each character will only have one page of material (three pages total). Memorization is not required, but have fun with making each character distinctly different from the last!
Along with the sides, all auditioners will also receive the most updated version of the scenes for their perusal.
