microChicago is excited to open calls for the "Red Line" paper festival, our first in what will be a series of microplay collections dedicated to each of the Chicago 'L' lines. Interested playwrights are encouraged to submit:

1. 1 microplay dedicated to one of the 33 stops on Red Line
2. Brief bio, short artistic statement or introduction
3. Headshot/photo

What is a microplay?
Inspired by The Debate Society's 15 Second Play collection, a micro play is a very short script running between 30 seconds to a minute, with text that is essentially "screenshotable". Examples of microplays can be found on The Lightbulb Factory and Production Productions Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as microChicago's Instagram: @microchicago

All selected microplays will be rolled out episodically during the month of May on microChicago's Instagram page, and will be included in TBD live reading event following the rollout! We hope you'll join us in playing in the infinite space of the small!
