"...Throughout, we receive deft reminders of the delicate dance between romance and regret, youth and age, innocence and intrigue threaded throughout the play. As one of the banished Duke's courtiers observes, "Happy is your grace that can translate the stubbornness of fortune into so quiet and so sweet a style." Perhaps dispossession and wandering in the wilderness, away from the "painted pomp" of the "envious court" yields its own quiet brand of resistance and rebirth."

"...The engaging Sheppard plays Rosalind with good judgment and just the right amount of girlishness, and Harazin's shrewd performance suggests a young man more perceptive than he seems. I got the impression Harazin's Orlando caught on to Rosalind's counterfeit and played along, as did the shepherd Corin (Matthew Moore), a provincial philosopher who holds his own opposite the cosmopolitan Touchstone."

"...McKillip isn't afraid to show us there are tears behind laughter. Others seem utterly unaware there are dark undercurrents in the play, or that the Bard's lines can have second and third meanings; too many are just bellowed, most of the comedy lost amid the histrionics. All of these missed opportunities contribute to the show's lackluster ending-amusing, just not moving."

"...I always look forward to the evenings I spend watching First Folio's Shakespeare under the stars. Somehow, that atmosphere - an outdoor stage set in the lush Mayslake Peabody Estate - transports me into Shakespeare's world. First Folio's delightfully modern production of Shakespeare's complicated comedy, "As You Like It", brings the lovers of Arden Forest to life. By the way, watching a pair of teen-aged girls shrieking and jumping about in excitement, demonstrates that Shakespeare doesn't have to be heavy going."

"...Twelfth Night on the grounds of Mayslake Peabody Mansion provides an immersive night of modern Shakespeare. With the comedic (and sometimes tragic) skill of its actors and director Skyler Schrempp, the performance excellently captures the lively wit of Shakespeare’s classic."
