Who's Holiday! Reviews

"...The nudge-nudge-wink-wink wordplay might wear out its welcome quickly if Garza didn’t have such a firm and loving handle on how the Cindys of the world have to survive the holidays, even when the jingtinglers and trumtookas are a distant memory and there’s nary a whiff of roast beast in the air. Her performance is a marvel of carefully calibrated resentment covered over with down-but-not-out bonhomie and a glimmer of hope. It’s silly, sure—but with just enough truthfulness to make our hearts grow three sizes."

"...Whatever happened to Cindy-Lou Who—the sweet 2-year-old who melted the heart of the green Grinch on Christmas Eve 40 years ago? We all remember that moment from Dr. Seuss’s beloved tale. But times change, people grow up, and in Who’s Holiday! Cindy-Lou is no longer that innocent toddler from Whoville. She’s now a bold, brassy, hysterically unfiltered adult with a lifetime of stories to spill—and she’s ready to tell all."

"...Directed by Christopher Pazdernik and written by Matthew Lombardo, Who’s Holiday! is a smart, sassy and irreverent take on nostalgia in general. After all, in real life, there is never a hazy, joy filled “ever-after” there is just life, with all its inconveniences, hard knocks and unexpected blessings."
