Twihard! A Twilight Musical Parody Reviews
Chicago Tribune - Highly Recommended
"...Schaefer was a jack-of-all-trades here, adding directorial and costuming duties alongside sharing props duties with Ben McClymont and of course writing the books and lyrics. “Twihard” feels like a labor of love for Schaefer. More than just the obvious time commitment from all of those responsibilities, the love of this story and its fanbase seeps from every pore of this show. There’s no telling what’s next for Schaefer and Rasmussen, be that another production of this, the teased sequel of “Twihard 2: Twiharder,” or something completely new. But with “Twihard,” they captured something magical, a hilarious, loving, musically gorgeous tribute and riff to a series that means a lot to a lot of people."

"...It has been a long time since I’ve seen a show that has taken me completely by surprise. I walked into Twihard thinking I had forgotten everything about this cult-classic series. As the show opened, it became quite clear that my knowledge of Twilight had just been hibernating. By the end, I walked out giddy, like my 16-year-old self who just left the midnight release of Breaking Dawn. Now I’m left thinking that I might need to grab my high school Twilight copies from my parents’ house the next time I visit."

"...There is fun, dancing ( some wonderful tap with choreography by Taylor Mitchell), and one of the greatest parts of doing a satirical look , ad-libs. Yes there were several “off-script” lines that broke up the cast members and even the piano player, but unlike a normal performance, knowing this was in fact a parody, no one seemed to give a damn. In fact, for many it might have been a highlight of the evening."

"...A zany and eclectic soundtrack by Tiffany Keane Schaefer and Brian Rasmussen meets a zany and eclectic cast in this hilarious generation-specific parody. The three background musicians (Brian Rasmussen, Mark Hardy, and Thomas A. Jasek) articulate every wacky turn of the actors, whose campiness is at times so frenetic, you can only marvel at how well connected the music and the movement are in this production."

"...Schaefer and Rasmussen’s work here sparkles, and Otherworld’s production is flawless (give or take a tree falling down onstage). It may not have as much appeal to non-Twihards—though anyone with a beating heart will enjoy the music and the humor—but if you’ve ever been a part of a Team Edward v. Team Jacob discussion, you’re going to love this show."
