"...I don't doubt for a second that "Titanique" will do well as we move into tourist season downtown. A PG-13 show ideal for girls' nights out, bachelorettes and so on will be an asset for the still-struggling Magnificent Mile, especially once the gay audience finds this show and word of mouth builds. I laughed my trunks off, and I'd seen it before, too. Most first-time cruisers, especially those who bought the drink package, won't want to return to the dock."

"...Welcome to "Titanique." Word to the wise: There is a "Titanic" musical, this is not that. The Porchlight Theater/Broadway in Chicago collaboration is an audacious, ridiculous, profane, puerile, high camp, low-brow, thoroughly entertaining musical parody of the movie, featuring the songs of Dion."

"...That said, "Titanique" isn't for everyone. But if you appreciate great singers and power ballad, and you like your satire with a side of naughty, this is the show for you."

"...Fane and Rowe manage to walk the line between the gooey-eyed puppy love and annoying self-absorption of Jack and Rose. Aguilar's Cal is a metrosexual villain (pretty sure I saw him snooping around on behalf of DOGE) and the real reason the ship collides with the iceberg. The original orchestrations and musical arrangements by Nicholas James Connell, here under the musical direction of Dr. Michael McBride, are delivered by a tight four-piece band."

"...The conclusion must mirror the absurdity of the entire production, diverging drastically from the film's tragic finale in which most characters, including Jake, meet their demise. Instead, in this fantastical twist, Celine Dion emerges as an unexpected heroine, exerting the power of love combined with her breathtaking singing voice to rescue all the passengers, transforming despair into triumph, ultimately saving lives and leaving the audience in awe and slight disbelief with its metaphysical ending, but in total laughter."

"...I love to laugh! Anyone who knows me, or has sat in my vicinity at a funny play, knows this about me. My wife often feels that I should hold back, yet, I cannot and I am not sure the performers would want me to. Laughter is contagious and for some reason, I get everything! Well, Chicago has a premiere in town, a musical farce that explores a story that has been told in film, book and onstage about the ship named the Titanic. The musical is called "Titanique" with a book by Maria Mindelle, Constantine Rousoull & Tye Blue and the music of Celine Dion."

"...Sumptuously produced, directed and choreographed, and featuring some unquestionably gifted and talented actors in every role, this collaboration between Broadway in Chicago and Porchlight Music Theatre is bound to draw in crowds of eager audiences. It's a show that's sure to delight every theatergoer, man or woman, straight or gay, Democrat or Republican-in fact, anyone who's ever loved the epic 1997 James Cameron film and enjoys a dynamically presented musical parody."

"...Alas, Broadway in Chicago and Porchlight Theatre proudly bring you Titanique-a one-of-a-kind musical comedy that's guaranteed to leave you in stitches and thoroughly entertained. Directed by Tye Blue, Titanique is an uproariously funny and gloriously campy musical parody that breathes new, unexpected life into James Cameron's beloved cinematic masterpiece,"

"...TITANIQUE is a must-see for people who like their tragedies with a side of snark, their romance with hints of yeast infection and their Celine Dion immortal and running the ship! Although the show has already extended to accommodate demand, get your tickets soon. I predict audiences will be buying return tickets on this fantastical voyage."

"...If the sheer notion of Céline romping through 1912 doesn’t dissuade you, I’ll only offer this: Clare Kennedy McLaughlin, if she doesn’t glue you to the back of your seat with vocal power, may perpetually alter how you hear “Peabo Bryson” forevermore. Oh, and Rob Lindley as nasty mama Ruth is doing a mean Richard Roxburgh impression."

"...Not since gin and vermouth first met ice has any cocktail sparkled so purely, so perfectly, so powerfully as Porchlight Theatre's crazy collision with a fateful iceberg, Titanique, now running at Water Tower Place's Broadway Playhouse."

"...There is quite a unique piece of musical theatre that officially opened Wednesday night at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place. It's the Chicago premiere of "Titanique"-produced by Porchlight Music Theatre and presented in association with Broadway in Chicago-a well-devised, power-packed parody of the 1997 film "Titanic" which remains one of the highest-grossing movies in history. "Titanique" takes a boatload of liberties in its campy take on the film it lovingly emulates and pretty much asks the audience one basic question: Could the hero of the film actually be Celine Dion?"

"...Titanique is Titanic told through the lens of C?line Dion because, obviously, she was there the whole time. Full of recognizable C?line Dion songs alongside original ones written for the show, Titanique embraces over the top, campy humor to tell this parody and each of the performers showcases their musical and comedic abilities."

"...TITANIQUE was such a genuinely mood-boosting time. I appreciate the musical's endless capacity for both fun and cleverness. It's not only a pure delight to watch, but the concept is so clever and executed with a keen eye for detail. I mean, truly, who better to tell the TITANIC story than Miss Celine Dion herself. With McLaughlin and the rest of this Chicago cast at the helm, this is one ship that magnificently sails to its destination."

"...That said, ?Titanique? is magnifique. Missed jokes aside, you?ll laugh harder than you have in ages. You?ll marvel at the Tina Turner vocals of the Iceberg (at this performance, Eric Lewis), considering Abby C. Smith a ringer stand-in for Kathy Bates circa 1997 as Molly Brown, or just lose yourself in the ever-changing cascades of Greg Hofmann?s lighting design. If, by curtain call, you aren?t at least marginally delighted by this rollicking musical comedy, feel free to sashay away."
