Three Soldiers (for Sisters)

1329-1333 N. Milwaukee Chicago

Three Soldiers (for Sisters) is a modern story about love, war, and the pursuit of happiness told through three soldiers who fall in love with a modern version of Chekhov's Three Sisters. While challenging the bourgeois assumptions about a classic work, this comedic production mixes realism and expressionism with old men using robotic limbs, female soldiers, racial tensions, and a terrorist attack. Where Three Sisters is often about the tragic fall of the upper class women, Three Soldiers (for Sisters) is about the difficult climb of our modern warrior class: fighting for middle-wage lives despite great personal and ethical challenges, asking "What are we willing to lose, to live the life we were promised?"
